Is this a story that I see before me?

I have to write a couple of short stories for a couple of anthologies.  Today, I'm going through my digital "trunk" of story ideas and unfinished stories.  I'm finding whole paragraphs of fiction that I wrote and then utterly forgot during the last 3+ years of hell.  Some of them are pretty cool, too.  Nice to confirm that my ability to create story was still in there, even though I was too anaemic to be able to sustain a creative narrative (amazing what lack of oxygen does to the brain, huh?).

I already know one of the stories that I'd like to finish.  I've written a significant amount of it in the years since I started it, and I like what I've written, but I'm stuck, because I'm not really sure what the story's about.

The other story is to be submitted to a shared world anthology.  I haven't written one of those before.  I may have to come up with a completely new idea, since all my trunk stories seem too specific to themselves to work in the world of the anthology.

Mull, mull.
