My dad attended the graduate theatre programme at Yale U. Performed Othello there and wrote most of a thesis, though he didn't go on to complete. I was probably around six years old at the time, since I seem to remember that my mother was pregnant with my brother, who's six years my junior. I attended the performance with my mother, and sat next to a little girl whose father (Lance?) was also in the production. I don't remember how we got into the argument about, "My daddy can beat your daddy," but unfortunately for her, her daddy was playing the part of Iago. So when Othello killed Iago, I was able to turn to her triumphantly and say, "See? My daddy _did_ beat your daddy!"
