Nebula Awards live

April 26, 2008 - 9:53pm

The Nebula Award ceremony is happening right this minute in Austin, Texas. I'm in Toronto, Ontario, but this is science fiction, after all. There's a live report from the ceremony. You can access it here. The channel is #Nebulas. They just finished dinner, and Joe Lansdale is speaking.

EDITED TO ADD:

Well, The New Moon's Arms didn't bring home the Nebula, but some cool people did win. Nancy Kress and Karen Joy Fowler were two of the instructors at Clarion East in 1995, when I was a student. They were great teachers and are great writers. I'm always happy to see them receive some kudos. And I met the equally handsome and talented Ted Chiang at a writing workshop a few years later. Much thanks to Michael for the live chat report from the awards ceremony. I have no idea how he managed to keep typing details at those of us on the channel while eating dinner and chatting with the others at his table, but I was impressed.
