Aurora Award for The New Moon's Arms

In May, a few days after I heard that I'd won the Aurora Award for The New Moon's Arms, I gave a reading at the Merril Collection library in Toronto with Dave Duncan. What I didn't know was that since Dave had won the Aurora the year before for best long-form work in English, he'd been the one to present it this year. I wasn't there, so he accepted it on my behalf. And bless his soul, he brought it with him all the way from Alberta, and formally presented it to me at the reading! Thank you so much, Dave.

Isn't it purty?

This is beautiful. How big

This is beautiful. How big is it, physically? My wish, of course, is that you win so many things like this that they becomes a clutter problem!

I'd estimate that it's about

I'd estimate that it's about ten inches high, and about seven inches square at the base. In the cramped space where we're currently living, that -is- precious room, yes. But maybe it's also an indicator of my potential to earn enough to be able to eventually afford more room!
