Yesterday I picked up a ball of twine at a dollar store. Last night, once I stopped writing for the day, I began imitating the action of my protagonist. He has more practice with a crochet hook than I do, but I think I've got something. It's freeform. Here's what it looks like so far:
It's hollow, currently open at both ends. I think that ultimately, I'll stuff it and crochet the ends shut. Maybe add arms, breasts, and a face and hair. Not right now, though. Got that novel to work on. But I'm tickled how reminiscent it is of this stuff I saw on the beach at La Jolla this summer:
